Glenhurst Reviews

Judith
What a fantastic property Glenhurst is. We were a group of nine including three children and we all loved this house. Although we were there in autumn the children were able to make good use of the garden and play equipment. The accommodation is stylish, comfortable and warm. The open plan kitchen is really well equipped with everything you might need. The view from the living space is so beautiful and you can watch the sunset over the horizon. The help and information provided by the owners was clear and comprehensive with lots of local recommendations. The location, so close to Chatsworth, Bakewell and the Peaks is perfect.
We loved our stay at Glenhurst. The property was great, spacious and had everything we needed. The views were spectacular and the local sheep even came to say hi each morning. Highly recommend!
Elisabeth
What a wonderfully relaxing weekend we have had in Glenhurst. The house is home from home, with every facility needed for a truly fabulous weekend. The accommodation is spacious, beautifully furnished, comfortable and fully equipped. Beautiful local walks from the door and plenty of great pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. The hosts were super friendly too and quick to answer any questions we had. Thank you Adam and Chiaki for a truly wonderful weekend we will return!
Graham
We enjoyed a great family 8 night stay at Glenhurst. There was plenty of room for 3 generations 8 adults and two babies. The location was super with quality pubs and restaurants only minutes away. We also enjoyed scenic walks directly from the house. The house is well equipped and the owners communicated well with us for our questions etc. Thank you for a great holiday and unforgettable memories.
Debbie
Only 3 chairs to sit outside for a part of 6. Had to sit on dining chairs in garden. The area was very hilly and the some of the guest elderly. One of the groups couldnt manage this. The place was lovely and clean and found a lovely restaurant not far from cottage
Claire
We had a fabulous stay at Glenhurst, the views from the house are stunning and the horses at the end of the garden were a highlight for the children. The house was perfect for a cross generational family holiday with lots of toys and plenty of space for everyone. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The only negative is there are only 8 chairs for the dining table, so if you are 10 people you need to bring two chairs with you.
Gabrielle
We had a fantastic stay at glenhurst, a whole family get together for my 30th birthday. The house was everything we needed, spacious & open plan. The views are spectacular and watching the sun set each evening, with the horses at the bottom of the garden was such a warming moment. The kids loved all the games and toys, this was a special touch. Location was great and we explored the area by foot and took a drive into Bakewell. The only things I would note, it would be great to have 2 pillows each on the beds, 1 is not enough and the beds could be comfier. The downstairs pull out bed really was quite firm, and one of the doubles upstairs, creaked every time you moved. Overall great stay and would highly recommend to anybody.

A beautiful house with a beautiful view, in a lovely area on the edge of the peak district national park. Despite the shocking weather storm Darragh during our annual get togther, we had a great time, in a comprehensively furnished and equipt house. My grandsons 3,3 and 5 thoroughly enjoyed playing with the huge selction of toys and games available. The owners were very attentive via email, and replied to any questions promptly. We would not hesitate in recommending Glenhurst.
This is such a beautiful house. The views are stunning and the space was great. The owners were really helpful in the run up to our stay with a very useful welcome pack so we had all your instructions wet needed. We had a few young children in our group and the house is very well equipped with stair gates and lots of books and toys. We would love to come back.

We had the most wonderful stay at Glenhurst. The location and setting of the house was perfect, the photos dont do justice the beautiful view from the property. The living space is spacious and bright and perfect to house a family get together. All of the communication from the lovely owners was great, they got back to us super fast and were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend and would love to visit again!
Very nice house in a very picturesque part of the country with a spectacular view of the countryside from the house. The house was homely, tidy, functional and the kitchen was well equipped. The surrounding area had plenty of walks a short walk from the house where you could have a short stroll or a long hike. The owners were engaging and even sent a surprise gift when they found out about the birthdays we were celebrating. Would definitely strongly consider staying again.
Glenhurst is a very well appointed house in a convenient location for the Peak District and Sheffield. It has lovely views over the valley to the rear of the house. Three couples and two children shared the house and we were very comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed and well supplied with cooking utensils and tableware. We visited at the end of October so the weather was not conducive to sitting out on the verandah but we reflected that it must have been lovely to sit out on long fine evenings.
Sheila
A lovely house with plenty of space. The bedrooms were roomy and the 3 showers were quite powerful. The view from the back of the house was exceptional unfortunately due to the time of year and the weather we could not enjoy the balcony. The house information we were given included everything we needed to know about the house , the appliances and the local area.
The house was absolutely beautiful. It was very clean and the layout and facilities were perfect for our group of 10 people. We had 3 children and a baby with us and they were all catered for. We had a wonderful weekend and would love to return. The owners were really helpful, providinf useful info and happy to answer my questions.
A fabulous very well appointed home and a detailed, well thought out and complete Welcome Book to help us get the best out of our property and our sadly too short break. I needed to make the owner's aware of some standard maintenance issues we discovered but these did not detract in any way from our break.
Absolutely outstanding property overlooking luscious green fields. Everything you need is provided at the house. The owner was amazing responding to our emails straight away. Local footpaths near by. 10 minute walk to the local pub that serve amazing food. Highly recommend Tickled Trout 10 mins in car for Sunday lunch.I will definitely return.
I decided to rent this house for my 30th birthday weekend based on pictures and reviews and the property did not disappoint! ! The views are stunning, Adam and Chiaki the owners could not do enough for us they were super communicative and they made me feel very looked after! The house is perfect for a getaway with friends and family the shared living space is perfect to spend time with loved ones and the kitchen is super functional and has all the amenities and more! Im already thinking about when to come next!!!
Lovely stay
The downstairs area flowed really well and was even better than the original photographs plus the added bonus of the views across the valley made for a relaxing stay. The children were very impressed with the range of toys which kept them occupied during the rain showers and inclement weather.
Claire
We had a great stay at Glenhurst 5 adults and 2 children. We chose it for the ample private parking, the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge and the private bathroomensuites for each double bedroom. It did not disappoint. The kitchen had everything we needed and the countryside views from the dining table were breathtaking. The huge selection of toys was a lovely touch and kept the children entertained for hours. The house was well located for day trips out in the Peak District and the local pub served delicious meals. The owners were very attentive and emailed lots of useful information prior to our stay. Thanks again.
All we can say is WOW what a beautiful home in the perfect location, the property was spotless and had everything we needed to create the perfect home from home experience . A shout out to the neighbours who came to our rescue due to the heavy snow fall but, this only made the property even more outstanding. The owners kept us updated prior to our stay, to help us with entering the property and also how to use everything, they were even kind enough to post out to us an item we left behind. Highly recommend and hopefully will have the pleasure to stay her again in the future. Thank you for the perfect weekend Glenhurst
What an amazing holiday we had glenhurst! The views from the back of the house are breath taking, absolutely beautiful. Situated in a perfect location only 10 minutes from large super markets and restaurants. The house itself is very secure with a gated driveway! Modern design throughout, very family friendly, had everything needed to cook, clean and relax! Very cosy in the winter months due to log burner. This property will always be special to us now as we got engaged here, already looking at booking again! Owners couldnt be more helpful, checked in to make sure everything was okay if we needed anythingvia email. Easy step by step guide book on how to use everything in the house and recommendations for local restaurants and sites to see. We recommend the tickled trout for Sunday roast a 1010. Would recommend this holiday home to anyone! Thank you Adam and Chiaki
I can't help but gush about this hidden gem! If I could give it more stars, I'd have to consult the night sky itself, because this place is outofthisworld amazing. The views? Oh, they're so breathtaking, even the birds have started taking notes for their own bucket lists! Picture this I'm sipping a cup of tea, gazing out at the majestic scenery, and suddenly, I'm pretty sure I just became a poet. It was the best weekend ever so much so that I might need to start a support group for my other weekends, which are now feeling totally inferior. Now, let's talk about Adam and Chiaki, the dynamic duo of hospitality. These two are like the superhero owners you never knew you needed. They're so accommodating that I'm pretty sure they could turn a potato into a fivestar meal if you asked nicely. In a nutshell, my stay here was so delightful that even the sunshine was jealous. If you don't visit, you're missing out on a seriously charming experience.
1010, responsive and friendly host. Beautiful property.
Lovely place in a beautiful setting with plenty of space and natural light in the living areas, and a balcony overlooking a well kept garden and beautiful rural scenery. Bedrooms comfortable, modern kitchen. Great place for a summertime stay. The owners could not have been more helpful, welcoming and responsive.
A lovely house in a fantastic location with one of the best views you could wish for. The property is comfortable, well furnished and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils for cooking. We were a party of 8 adults and had loads of space to socialise and relax. Perfectly located to enjoy the Peak District.
Gabrielle
We had a wonderful time at Glenhurst, thank you so much for having us! In particular we enjoyed the beautiful views, how easy it is to pop under the garden fence and go for a walk and how close we were to a local pub which was a crowd please for all of the family. There were lots of little touches which made staying with a family really easy like the high chair, cot, colouring and toddler cutlery which was a real benefit not having to put everything in the car. A wonderful property and very responsive hosts to any questions we had. Wed love to come back.
