Spa House Reviews

We stayed here with a bunch of friends and two infants. It was ideal for us with everything we needed. Incredible space, well appointed and you couldn't ask for a better location. It could do with a bit of a deeper clean and the clean inbetween stays wasn't the best. Also better instructions on bins where things are wouldn't go a miss. Overall though we would be back for sure!
Could be perfect but slipped slightly due to cleanliness and facilities. Lots of dust and dirt on the floors, under sofa downstairs had balls of fluff, dirt down sides of sofas upstairs, stains on towels which were only small and felt old and very rough, stains on bedding, bins not emptied upstairs in bathroom, en suite light flickering, smoke alarm downstairs beeping as battery low! Our toddlers were crawling around and were visibly grubby afterwards on their knees. Broken drinking glass in kitchen cupboard and dirty cups not washed properly put away. Very limited supplies in kitchen, no salt and pepper or basic items like foil which would be handy. Location was brilliant and perfect for what we needed, beautiful big town house. Just needed a good clean up and some new towels etc. wanted to review in case owners hire cleaners and are unaware of how it was left.

This was a perfect house to host a big family Christmas. The accomodation is over 4 floors, which kept everyone out of each other's way! The house was warm and the two large showers had plenty of hot water. Two ovens and two fridges meant catering for a large meal was easy. The washing machine and dryer need some TLC. The washer needs a good clean and the dryer lint filter was completely full. I would have expected the cleaners to be addressing this. Also there were bits of lego from previous occupants caught in the lounge rug. Beds were very comfy, and the living and dining areas were great for our large party. Thank you for letting us stay in this wonderful house!!
Annette
This was a beautiful property and we all had a lovely time celebrating my 60th birthday. There were just a few things that would have made it perfect. On arrival, we had some difficulty finding the property, as the sign outside said Malvern House rather than Spa House. We also found only one bin bag, one dishwasher tablet and limited toilet roll, so we needed to purchase more during our stay. The lighting outside the property was quite poor, especially as there were several steps.
Beautiful house , great location, beds comfortable, really spacious , we had an amazing stay , the only downfall was there was no kindling to light the log burners and they were still full of Ash from the last residents, also the private parking area is on a steep hill , obviously its winter the area could do with power washing the moss and leaves as we found the car wheels were skidding on trying to park , but otherwise would definitely recommend a large party stay .

This house is lovely! All bedrooms are beautifully presented and a special mention for the lovely ensuite king room! Down stairs there is a lovely sitting room and dining area which we made good use of. The house is on 4 levels so its worth keeping mind for anyone with access issues but it worked really well for us a group of 9. Location is fab close to everything so it was a prefect stay all round Many Thanks!!
Andrew
Thank you we had an excellent stay at the spa house. Property is well equipped with great bedding and facilities. Only downsides were a shortage of toilet paper and no fire lighting equipment or kindling for the fireplace only logs. The location is excellent for Buxton. There were a number of reviews complaining about low water pressure and lack of hot water in the showers but we had none of these issues the showers were fantastic.
The house was beautiful lots of caracter and perfect size for what we wanted. It was in the perfect spot for the town centre but just out of the way so nice and quiet. 4 min walk to centre. The only little negative was there was no washing up liquid or clothes to clean so we had to call to the shop to get some. Also only one tea towel.
Beautiful house in the heart of Buxton. Immaculately clean, well equipped, comfortable beds with nice crisp bed linen and lovely pillows. Fantastic dining table to seat all 10 of us. Plenty of seating in the lounge for us all too. It was perfect a group of 10. Would definitely recommend. One criticism the showers are not powerful at all and were at times cold even if only one shower was in use. Maybe this needs looking at.
Lovely, wellfurnished and spotlessly clean. Main showers were a big disappointment insufficient pressure for multiple use and not enough hot water. More cutlery would be nice for when dishwasher is full.
Ideal for family gathering although a lot of steps for the oldies, especially as no loo on first floor. Spacious and very comfortable inside, outside space awkward to use and could be tidier. Excellent position for the town. We had difficulty finding it as the house name covered by greenery More information would be good, eg bin day, oven controls, how to report a breakage and tourist info. We brought DVDs for the girls to use in the cinema room but no player!
Alison
Just back from organising my daughters Bridal shower. Communication was ok, I did have a request which was done but no confirmation. Plenty of promotional emails received though! House in super location. Parking good, sloped and parking permits all around house. We had a camper van, Audi & fiat 500 all got on fine. Well decorated & plenty of seats everywhere. Well stocked in kitchen, nothing fancy but plenty of champagne flutes! Beds comfy, fluffy towels and rails & hooks. Some bedrooms needed lamps by beds. Bathroom on both bedroom floors & one ensuite. Okay for us. We used the cinema room as a mini spa treatment area, this worked well because of accessibility. Only criticism would be the yard off the kitchen it could be much pleasanter. The front is okay but more effort to get there. Great time, my daughter loved the house and we took some beautiful photographs. A house fit for special gatherings.
Rachel
Fabulous house, better than expected, incredible location. Big shame that the dishwasher broke during our stay and there was no one available to fix it but it was only a weekend stay. Perfect for a large group otherwise and very well equipped!
Olivia
We had a great time staying at Spa house!
Brilliant house, even though we booked it last minute it was prepared and clean. Great location close to the park, cafes, pubs and shops.
Caroline
A fabulous house in a great location to enjoy Buxton. There were 11 of us. All were very comfortable. There's a big dining table with 12 chairs and good seating in the lounge. The house was dressed for Christmas which was beautiful! It's a bit difficult to find and we would recommend that the owners put images on the website to assist.
