Elton House Reviews

Joy
Perfect for a family get together and a wonderfully atmospheric house
Jeremy
A perfect house for a family or group. Very comfortable and the essence of a country escape. Delightful village and nice walks on the doorstep.
Susan
A wonderful place to stay. The owner was friendly and helpful. It was a perfect place for our large family with lots of space and a great garden.
Janet
We were a 3 generational party, 6 adults, 4 teenagers & 4 dogs. Elton house was the perfect place for us to relax, have fun, be apart, but most importantly be together. All the downstairs rooms were spacious enough for 10. We were very lucky with the weather but loved the open fires when the temperature dropped. The garden was a great host to an Easter egg hunt, racket games, relaxing & fully enclosed making it excellent for our 4 lively dogs. The walks from the door are across stunning, beautiful countryside. The nearest shop is a 5 minute drive away in Winster. Thank you Jeremy for the welcome hamper and flowers, much appreciated. Elton house is definitely a property that we would like to return to. We absolutely loved it.
Brian
What a lovely location. Very comfortable house. Brilliant relaxing vibes. Brilliant helpful owner. Highly recommend.
Sue
We had a lovely holiday in this historic house which has welcomed many families, both residents and visitors over centuries. Our three generations plus dogs were fortunate to enjoy a week of perfect weather, so we were outside most of the time. We really appreciated the large, sheltered and secure garden, and having direct access from the house to many lovely walks in the area. We could imagine being just as content with log fires to come back to in chillier times! The generous welcome pack was appreciated, as was the friendly reception from Jeremy and his team. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
Paul
Really enjoyed our stay in this unique characterful house - which still feels like someone's home. It oozes history with some many retained features but modern facilities. Very clean and well presented.
Samuel
We had a great family stay here, mix of generations. The house was comfortable and perfectly located for what we wanted. Unlimited walks on your door step, and pubs and shops just a short distance away.
Sarah
A truly wonderful, quirky place to stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful. There was a lovely welcome pack which we really appreciated. For winter stays, it is so cosy and warm, perfect after a day of walking. Itâ??s very dog friendly as the garden is fully enclosed and the floors are all wipeable! There are good walks straight from the property which can include a number of pubs for refreshment stops!
David
The cottage owner Jeremy was so welcoming and made us feel immediately at home. We enjoyed our conversations with him during the week as he looked after his stabled horses nearby. The cottage is situated in the lovely quiet village of Elton with easy access to many of the 'headlines' tourist areas and attractions in Derbyshire. We were a party of four, however, the property is ideal for much lager families or groups. Thank you once again for a great weeks holiday Jeremy!
Clare
This is a lovely house run by its charming owner Jeremy. He couldnâ??t have been nicer and was there in a flash if you called him. The house was very clean, and also very comfortable. The walled garden was a great space that we thoroughly enjoyed being in, and the covered terrace area was great too.
Megan
An interesting big old house just right for getting the family together.
Paul
The property is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped with a good broadband signal and modern smart TV. The host was warm & welcoming and had us settled in no-time-at-all. All rooms were cleaned to a high standard and the beds proved very comfortable. The property location is ideal for visits to Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth House, and as a manageable base for walks in the Derwent Valley. We had a very relaxing stay and heartily recommend this property as an ideal residence for large families or groups of friends
Graham
Much to celebrate about the house. Our host was excellent and we loved the box of goodies with a lovely welcoming fire when we arrived. The location is great for short or longer walks and perfect for dog owners. We will be back!
