The Granary Reviews

Catherine
The Hopton Hall estate is a real find with the most spectacular gardens we had them to ourselves when there and a range of beautifully restored holiday cottages to choose from. Our group stayed in the large Granary, due to be refurbished later in the year, which was comfortable, warm and wellequipped with just a few minor issues such as a bedroom door that didnt actually close and some overpowering emergency lighting on all the time good adherence to fire regs though. The swimming pool was being refurbished but we were given a generous discount without asking, well handled by Sykes. Great location, too. Wed go back in a flash!
We had a fabulous week staying in The Granary at Hopton Hall celebrating a special birthday for my wife with all the family. It really is 5 star. Our group of 14 ranged from a 5 year old up to 70 but there was something for everyone, whether that be wandering around the gardens or having a swim in the pool. The property is very well equipped with top quality linen and towels. The grounds are immaculate with The Miners Arms just a short stroll away. Spencer and Emma provide excellent support should you need to know anything. All in all a fantastic break at a great location. Highly recommended.
Wanted somewhere big enough for 14 of us to spend family time together with my daughter and kids over from Australia and the Granary was perfect for a three night break. Storm Goretti hit the day before we were due to travel but it turned out to be a bonus as they were able to build their very first snowman, kangaroo and seal. They also made good use of the pool. The beautiful, spacious, well equipped kitchen with it's two ovens made cooking the Sunday roast a pleasure. Everything about it, the bedding and towels in particular screamed quality. On a walk round the estate I met the owners Andy and Chris who told me the Granary is getting refurbished, their other rentals having already been done to a very high standard. I'm planning to revisit with a group of friends when the rose garden's in bloom.
Beautiful property in a beautiful location. All facilities amazingly kept. Definately will book again.

Thank you to Andy, Chris, Emma, Spencer and team for a very highly turned out accommodation. The well equipped kitchen with its two ovens made cooking a pleasure. Everything about the property, the bedding and towels in particular quality. The pool being an added bonus for us all. Make sure you take a walk round the well kept grounds. We were a family group aging from 4 to 75, there for three nights. The children all made use of the playground when not playing hide and seek in the house. Tears were literally shed when they had to leave. Thanks again to all the team. Hopefully we will be back.
The Granary was all we couldve wished for and more. Our party of 10 adult cousins meet up every year in Derbyshire as its a central location for us all. The Granary is our favourite and we rebooked for next year at the end of our stay. Having a bathroom per each couple is so convenient. In the kitchen they provide 2 toasters, 2 kettles and 2 fridges. Lots of cutlery and crockery and serving dishes. There was nothing we needed that wasnt provided which was wonderful as we do such a lot of food preparation. Also enough dishwasher tabletswashing up liquid clothsbin bags to last throughout your stay. The furnishings and bed linen are of a high quality. We appreciated this extra thought that had gone into making our stay so comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and local nearby villages are pretty and have everything you need. Cant wait to return next January. Thank you ,
Leonie
The Granary was absolutely perfect for our large group staying & celebrating over new year. Its in a beautiful setting, with amazing grounds & the house is large, well equipped & very clean and tidy. The rooms all boast ensuites which was a huge positive for a large group. Incredible views and location too. Onsite liaison was also helpful too for any questions etc. Equally nice to have access to the pool. 1010 would recommend. Thank you so much.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage in Derbyshire! The location was stunning, surrounded by gorgeous gardens that added to the charm. The hosts were incredibly helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable. The cottage itself was immaculately clean, with comfortable beds and beautifully appointed rooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. We appreciated the thoughtful amenities and facilities available. A perfect retreat in a lovely setting highly recommended
This is an amazing place. So much space and a bathroom with every bedroom which makes a huge difference with large groups. The owners have clearly spent a lot of time and money making it just right, everything just works, high quality fixtures and fittings, ample hot water and beautiful surroundings. The pool was great, the kids loved it. Thank you Spencer, Emma and team.
Tarique
