Sunset View Reviews

Sandra
We had a fantastic weekend with the family in this lovely house. It was very comfortable and provided everything we needed for a relaxing time. The welcome pack of milk, cheese, biscuits, flavoured water and wine were much appreciated. Sunset View is in an amazing location, perfect for visiting Matlock and beyond. With beautiful walks on your doorstep it was ideal for the children, dogs and also the runners in the family. Would definitely recommend it and will come back.
Jeanette
The house was very warm and very clean. Very handy to visit The Heights of Abraham, Bakewell and Matlock. We also enjoyed the Crich tram museum Lovely extras from the owners including wine, cheese and crackers, Only negative would be the dining room chairs were very low to the table and very lumpy, could do with an upgrade.
We had a lovely weekend stay at this comfy, warm house. With the owners living next door, it meant any issue we had could be sorted out happily we needed a garage to look at our car, no issues with the house. The kitchen cupboards were well stocked and the welcome pack very welcome indeed! We have already recommended Sunset View to our friends!
Arrived on such a dull winters day to enter a beautiful warm welcoming cottage, the photos online don't do it justice. Everything was perfect, spacious bedrooms, large kitchen with a generous dining area & a great lounge space for a large family with comfortable sofas. Everywhere was clean and inviting. We had a perfect Christmas break, lots of board games to entertain us all. Black Rocks on our doorstep! Local shops not far. Thank you so very much for our stay.
Excellent location for a family Christmas. Very well equipped, better than other self catering accommodation we have used elsewhere. Lots of places to visit and easy access to High Peak Trail. Hosts very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. We will return!
Lovely big house. Good sized rooms. Didn't get to explore due to the storm. But fitted our family of 6 adults well.
A lovely property in a great location. We booked as a party of 4 wanting separate bedrooms which was within easy walking distance of places to eat out and walk as well as being close to a parkrun and Sunset View didn't disappoint. We arrived on the Friday for a 2 night stay in which time we didn't need to use the car. The Black Rocks parkrun is right next to the property and this is also where you can get on to the High Peaks Trail.
Rachel
Lovely property and truly secure garden areas for dogs. Sunset View was spotlessly clean, great facilities and so comfortable. The location is fantastic with great walks from the door at Black Rocks with amazing views and Cromford Moor through the woods. Easy driving distance to Chatsworth, Monsal Viaduct, Dovedale, Matlock and Harboro Rocks. Sally and Mick were great hosts and so very friendly. Really didnt want to go home! Would highly recommend Sunset View.
Sunset view is a lovely cottage in a fantastic location. Extremely well equipped, comfortable and spacious. The welcome pack was a lovely and unexpected surprise. My husband is passionate about Derby County and the owners were kind enough to lend him a book about the club, which he immersed himself into. .
Claire
We had a lovely stay at Sunset View. We went as 2 families of 4 and a dog. The space for 8 was perfect. We didnt feel on top of each other. The welcome pack of milk, biscuits, crackers and wine were lovely. We were also impressed that there was some toiletries in the bathroom like shower gel and shampoo. Handy if you had forgotten. A lovely sized dining table for 8 meant we could play board games in the evening. The dining chairs were not very comfy. The location is ideal to explore the area with walks from black rock just 160 yards from the front door. We walked from black rock to Wirksworth following a circular route which we would recommend. There were also several other routes in the area. We had a lovely stay at this property and would 100 recommend.
Christopher
Dining room chairs need replacing. Too low for table and the springs inseat bases are worn out . Oven does not heat up to temperature. A pizza that would take ordinarily 8 to 10 min takes nearly 20 min.

The welcome pack was an unexpected but welcome surprise and the provisions were too Excellent location for walking and out of the way of the tourist areas but still within walking distance We thank the hosts for their hospitality and would stay again

Every detail had been thoughtfully considered, from the cozy furnishings to the wellequipped kitchen and some lovely welcome treats too! Claire

Would stop hear again very nice Sally and mick were very nice
The property was clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The hosts were very helpful and left a great welcome pack. A good location not to far from lots of the regions attractions. We would definitely stay again.
Deborah
This is a well maintained and beautiful property ideal for a visit to Wirksworth. The host were amazing and gave useful information to support us having an exceptional break. We will definitely be returning.
Really enjoyed our stay, house is very well equipped for eating in and an ideal location on the high peak trail for good walks.
The owners were so lovely and even made the extra effort to send well wishes for our wedding in the morning! So clean and spacious is was fab xx
Katrina
This house was perfectly located right next to the High Peak Trail. We had a family get together 5 adults and a dog and would very happily come back here again. The location of Sunset View means that once there we did not use the car for the weekend. We walked in one direction along the Trail on one day, the other direction on the next day. On both days we strolled down to Wirksworth which takes around half an hour and is good exercise for calf and shin muscles! Parking in market place is cheap though! We appreciated having a very well equipped kitchen and dining area. The lounge provided comfortable seating for all of us which is not always the case. Many thanks for a great stay
Absolutely stunning! !! The house is beautiful, immaculate inside, every tiny little detail thought about to make our stay perfect. We loved it that much that we are booking again for the same time next year!!! Highly recommended. You will not regret it.
Joseph
Great property for exploring the peak district. The property was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sunset View. clean, comfortable, decent sized rooms, an amazing welcome pack, dog friendly and very welcoming. Ideally situated to explore the local area and lots to do.
Fantastic place. Super clean. Lovely little touches with wine in the fridge to a folder full of local information. Could do with a couple of chairs in the bedrooms to put your clothes on .
