Deeley House Reviews

Lovely house with period features. Pillows allowed the best sleep
An excellent, well equipped and spacious place to stay. The dining room was large enough for all our family to sit down and enjoy time together. The kitchen was well equipped and the oven easy to use. The beds were very comfortable with quality duvet sets. Lots of off road parking spaces available and the front garden had enough space to sit and watch the birds with a glass in hand. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Generally s good stay at this spacious house but there were a few issues on Maintenance such as the drip in the corner of the sitting room, we emptied the pot for you! Also the doors to the ensuite shower rooms in the twin rooms both stick on the carpet, not good for your carpets life. Also the light on the mirror in the twin room doesnt work Lastly neither of the towel rails in those shower rooms will heat up so towels stay wet.
Great location between Matlock and Bakewell and perfect accommodation for a ... Great location between Matlock and Bakewell and perfect accommodation for a family get together to celebrate my father in laws 70th

Lovely old house makes plenty of room for 6 friends to have a great weekend away .
Dominic
Lovely historic building and a good size for a family. Heating was off when we arrived in late November when there were freezing temperatures and it took a day or two for the house to warm up. Pet friendly and it would suit those with pets more than those who dont have any. Well positioned for Matlock & Bakewell and the nearby attractions.

Gorgeous cottage. Had everything we needed, was very well equipped, and the bed and duvets were so comfy we all photographed the labels so we could buy them
Lovely house in a perfect location, owner very helpful.
Deeley House is exceptional. We were 2 x families of 4 and the home was perfect for our needs. Its very grand in decor which makes you feel like you are having a great whilst still giving that homecomfort feel. Our 4 kids are between 913 and the 2 rooms downstairs gives you the space to be together with the amazing table and also to sit separately if needed. The fire in the sitting room was welcomed after a cold raining long walk! This house offers excellent facilities, beds are comfy and clean, the showers and bathrooms are clean and showers powerful, the kitchen is fully equipped. We loved it. Our views for improvement we were asked to strip beds before we left and place in clear bags there were none The dishwasher had no tablets so whilst we had no issue buying tablets we had to do this the following day late on Saturday as we had loaded it all on Friday night and gone for a 15k walk on Saturday. So the dishes sat there. Thankfully though there were enough dishes to enable us not to have unloaded it and wash it all. But just a thought maybe ensure there is at least 1. Same with bin bags. We had taken some but if few people there one bag wont be enough. A later checkout would also be nice option. Other than the above which did not change our opinion its was all fabulous. Would we stay again? Absolutely. We hope to come back.
A wonderful stay at Deeley House, plenty of room for our party of 4 adults and 1 toddler. Beds were very comfortable and it was great to have multiple bathrooms and showers. The house is in a great location, we enjoyed some lovely walks and local days out at Chatsworth Estate, cycling the monsal trail, using the Peak Rail steam line, and visiting the lovely towns of Bakewell and Castleton. The owner was very responsive and helpful too. Would highly recommend and we will be back to the Peak District for sure!
Beautiful house that feels like home. Very pleasant owners. We had a minor matter at start of holiday but sent a message through app to owner. They responded both via Sykes email and also via text direct to myself allowing us to communicate directly even though it was late evening. And the matter was resolved to our satisfaction. And the owner followed up to check all resolved ok. I would stay here again and would recommend to others. We had a lovely family holiday end of August 2025
I booked direct with Sykes in March 2025. When we arrived after 5 PM on the day, the house was not prepared and in a mess. I had to call Sykes which took more than 10 minutes to answer. The response was I booked at last minute. The booking was made 5 months ago and paid. It took 45 minutes for cleaners to come and another one hour to clean. We were left outside house for 2 hours. The owner messaged me saying its Sykes issues with communication to cleaners. I received no apology from Sykes yet. Still waiting for Sykes apology and compensation for a very poor service and experience. The house as such is good and well furnished.
Francesca
Gorgeous property! ! We had a lovely time! Only issue was with the shower head in one of the on suites but that was very minor! Thank you for a lovely stay and the little touches like the cake and crisps!
Joanna
