Roseville Reviews

Great stay. Plenty of room for all to sleep and sit, hot tub was good, easy instructions for tub, shower and heating. Beds really comfy. Numerous amounts of crockery, glasses etc, could do with a few more adult eating knives tho. Location great, easy walk local and to Matlock Bath Fab time all round. settee may need an upgrade sooner rather than later fyi, you can leave this bit out of the review if you want.

We had a lovely stay 7 of us all in the hot tub with a view There is a pub down the road and 20 minute walk to Matlock bath The cottage was lovely and had everything you needed They left a hamper with treats and a bottle of fix I would definitely recommend a stay
This house could be so lovely as its in such a lovely area, but we were slightly disappointed on arrival as it definitely needs some TLC. The bedrooms were ok and the beds and linen were actually very comfortable, but the rest of the house definitely needs an upgrade and a good clean. The kitchen was not up to standard with chipped flooring and crockery, plus the oven needing a good degrease or even changing completely. We used it once and also had to wash everything before we used it. Furthermore, you cannot advertise 2 bathrooms when one is just a downstairs toilet with a bathroom plaque on the door or a shower in a cupboard in one of the upstairs bedrooms. We all had to share 1 bathroom between us all, which was not ideal. A clean and an upgrade would definitely help this property.
Roseville is a lovely cottage with 4 great size bedrooms. There is a cosy front room and very nicely laid out kitchendining area. The host Neil is very responsive and was happy to help with a few questions prior to our stay. It's a fantastic location with a nice easy walk along the canal close by so would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away from busier areas but likes having all local amenities close by! Brilliant stay!
Great location and facilities especially Hot Tub. Real home from home!
This property was lovely and cosy and in a really great location with lots of lovely shops and walks from the doorstep. The hot tub was not hot on the first night and then on the second day required us to clean the filter in order to make it stay on so I think some work could be done to ensure this is hot from the first day. We only stayed a weekend so were quite disappointed when we were unable to use it one night. Otherwise the property was lovely.

Neil, host, was very responsive when we arrived as the keysafe at front door was broken and unable to open. Not helped by poor weather and being dark! Therefore needed help to locate 2nd keysafe. I would suggest a movement activated light at bottom of steps from the gravel path. Disappointed to find no logs or starter pack for a well needed fire. Again Neil responded positively to this. Have already made Neil aware that the QR Code on the welcome poster not working, but grateful for the welcome goodies. Generally roomsbeds comfortable, but the property is looking 'tired' for example window frames mouldy, lightbulb in kitchen needs replacing, making it dim snd the upstairs bathroom slide lock kept falling off. Unfortunately due to the weather conditions, and age of property, there was a leak from the external doorway onto the upstairs hallway carpet which needs attention. Made it unpleasant underfoot. The shower in the 'ensuite' overexagerated description in my view!

The cottage is in a beautiful location with lots of walks and attractions nearby. The rooms are comfortable and the Woodburn delightful after autumn walks. Any issues with figuring out how things work were responded to very quickly by the host. My only complaint was that the hot tub was not really warn enough yo use the first night, that said it was lovely the next day and up to a toasty 38 degrees.

This was a gift for my son and his family for special occasion it was so ... This was a gift for my son and his family for special occasion it was so disappointing dirty ,cold and not as expected my daughter in law has left a review at the cottage and I intend making a formal complaint
There are loads of great things about the cottage that we loved, but a warning if youre paying extra for a place with a hot tub, that its not guaranteed to be usable, and if it is, its just one of those inflatable ones that has no seats, you have to squat in, and it doesn't keep its heat. It was at 22 degrees when we arrived and we never once managed to get it to above 30, so in September thats not really feasible so we couldnt use it. Was offered goodwill payment of 50 which I had to chase for but was a nice gesture. The bedrooms and beds are a great size and really comfy. The seatingTV area is awkward for 5 people but we managed to make it work fine. Lovely location and a really old historic building. Lovely welcome package.
Sandra
The cottage is delightful, we particularly liked sitting by the window, looking out. The hot tub was a very welcome feature, sitting outside in the sun with a cup of tea was a pleasure, everything needed is provided. it is in a lovely area, the people in the village very friendly. Highly recommend the Boat Inn, good food and very friendly staff.
Sharon
We loved the property, excellent location parking was just round the corner so that was really appreciated. We had wonderful weather so used the outdoor area on the upper level all of the time, what a wonderful view.We did feel a little TLC was needed in this area, nothing major. We had the kitchen door open all the time because it was so hot, maybe a beaded curtain could be put there to stop the flys and wasps getting in, I know we could have closed the door but the weather was incredible warm. Thank you for letting us stay we had a lovely weeks stay.
What a fantastic property! 4 good sized double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, abundance of outside relaxing areas in a part of the country where private outside space is at a premium and the view of Black Rocks whilst sat on the terrace is an excellent vista. Our host, Neil, was always on hand to answer any questions both leading up to the stay and the stay itself. Perfectly placed in Cromford for easy access to the south east of the Peak District. Would not hesitate in going back.
Andrew
The owner communications was excellent. The cottage is as described and was well presented with a great welcome tray.
Roseville is a lovely property, very spacious and well situated. The views are amazing. The hot tub was used every day. Lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the surroundings and great weather.
Angela
Fabulous location with stunning views. Big enough for a large group. Full of character with plenty of space to spread out. Well equipped and generally clean. Very comfortable bedrooms and sitting room. Close to local shops and pubs. Owner very helpful.
Pamela
We all had a great time at Roseville, which is right in the centre of Cromford and close to loads of walks and footpaths in every direction. The hot tub was used every day. The designated parking was close by which was very helpful.
Charlotte
Thank you so much for the most beautiful and cosy family getaway location. We booked with friends for a Christmas weekend and when we arrived the house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and Neil was incredibly helpful with any questions we had. We will definitely be booking again. You should too because you will not be disappointed!
The property itself was exactly as described and was perfect for our needs! Neil was fantastic and gave us all the help and advice we needed about how to work the hot tub and other bits and pieces. We cant recommend enough. Will use again!
Clean, well looked after property. Spacious and easily accomodated 4 adults. The welcome hamper was a lovely unexpected touch. Great outdoor area and hot tub makes a lazy afternoon that bit more special.
We had an amazing stay at Roseville. The property is beautifully decorated and well maintained. It had all the amenities that we needed. It is a lovely space throughout. The garden are is beautiful overlooking the village and the hot tub just makes it. The Umberella going over the hot tub is a great touch, especially with the typical English weather! It is in a great location. The town has everything you need, traditional local pubs and quaint cafes. And Matlock Bath is a short drive away, or about a 25 minute walk which is great. It is a great base to explore the surrounding areas.
Hayley
The beds are super comfy with lovely decor throughout, lots of kitchen utensils, lovely welcome pack and the area was stunning with lovely neighbours. There is not an ensuite as described it's just a shower in the room that does not drain away so could not be used due to flooding the room. The blinds were hanging off in one room, hot tub had not been cleaned sufficiently filter was clogged, shower in main bathroom has been glued in place causing flooding of the room ! Toaster didn't work. Mainly Small things that are easily fixed would make this place idyllic. Instructions to drive the mins to Sainsbury's to dispose of any glass are outdated there are no longer glass bins there !
Roseville is such a lovely cottage. Close to the village below. The cottage itself has everything you need, and the welcome hamper was a lovely idea to! Would highly recommend and would love to stay here again.
Fantastic holiday, we visited as three families and it had everything we needed. Neil is an excellent host and contact was super quick and easy. There was a lovely welcome pack for when we arrived. We all had a great time and the hot tub was definitely a luxury! The cottage is located in a brilliant central location to everything. Cromford is lovely, Matlock bath is an easy walk away and Matlock and Bakewell a short drive. It really is a convenient place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again soon.
Great property and location. The cottage was very clean and tidy and ready for our stay when we arrived. We used the jacuzzi every night which was a very nice change as we don't have one at home. We did a lot of walking and there are great places to explore around the cottage. Matlock Bath is a nice walk from the cottage and if we were there for longer we would have walked to Matlock instead of driving there. Our dog loved the stay and was ready for his bed every night and slept really well. There are 2 great pubs down the road Greyhound and The Boat Inn, we preferred the Boat Inn as it's an oldworldy type of pub and the food there was fantastic. On our last night we ate at teh Tapas Restaurant which was nice but be prepared to wait for your food if you get the tapas deal. I had pizza so not much of a wait for me. I'd definitely go back to the cottage and am looking at booking again. I promise you won't be disappointed.
